DAY 15
Perspective

After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne.
Revelation 4:1-2

Have you ever tried to look at one of those 3-D pictures? Staring at it, squinting our eyes, trying to see that one thing that is hidden in the picture. Some may try for a long time but still unable to identify the object. Some could just spot it within seconds. The fact of the matter is, though the object may evade our views, it does not mean that it is not there. It is a matter of angle and perspective.

In today’s Bible passage, John saw an open door in heaven. He heard a voice asking him to “come up”, so that he might see what are to take place thereafter. It is obviously not a matter of height, but rather being in the presence of God that gives John the advantage of seeing clearly what will happen in the future. Having that perspective will enable John and his readers to align their lives appropriately.

Today, you may be confronted with challenges beyond your ability to cope or foresee of its future development. Having knowledge of what is to come may prepare you better for the future. But having God’s perspective on the matter will actually give you a winning edge. Having God’s perspective on the matter will give you hope, because God has your best interest in His mind. He wants to give you His strategy to overcome, to win and to breakthrough. He wants to reveal to you His heart and will, so that you might align your life to His purpose.

To gain His perspective we need to be renewed in the way we process our thoughts. We need to allow His Holy Spirit to renew our mind. We need to go to Him in the Spirit, and see things through the lenses of His truth, His attributes, His compassion, His righteousness, His holiness and His justice – an eyesight overhaul.

“Come up” to Him and see that He is still firmly seated on the Throne! And your perspective will surely change!
