DAY 4
May The Lord Prosper Your Way

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers.
3 John 1:2

It is customary during Chinese New Year, well wishes are exchanged generously, in the sincere hope that those who receive the greetings, will truly be blessed. The Chinese culture has this belief that, everything physical and tangible is influenced by or connected to the invisible. Words we speak, attitude we hold, all these can affect the physical outcome of our success or failure in life.

While this belief is most probably derived by centuries of observation and deduction, there is no certainty that life will truly be prosperous when we say the right words or adopt the right attitude. But God revealed a timeless principle in His words to Joshua:  “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8). When we meditate God’s word, chew on it, and fill our mouth with it, having attitudes shaped by God’s words, we will in fact be, making our own way prosperous. That is a sure way of having good success.

John reiterates this spiritual principle: when our souls are healthy, when our relationship with God is right, when our spiritual life is prosperous, we will then experience prosperity in every way. How amazing is that! That’s how amazing and faithful our God is!

I pray that you will experience this reality of godly prosperity in all your ways, as you walk faithfully, in obedience, according to His way and His words! Have a truly prosperous new year!
