Celebration of Praise and thanksgiving on 1st January, 2014

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” (Psalm 100:4)

I would like to see Anglicans in Kota Kinabalu gather together at All Saints’ Cathedral to praise and give thanks to God on the first day of 2014. Therefore, with the help of all our KK clergy we will see this happen. This is a very special time in the Lord together bringing our thanksgivings, praises, hopes, hurts and heart desires before the throne of grace.

We believe that although we have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, we are justified by the gift of grace through the redemption that is ours in Christ Jesus.

We live in a time that give praises and thanksgivings to all creation and yet forgotten who is the Creator. In the mist of moral and spiritual chaos, we must make a different by living lives that bring glory to God. We may have rationalize our behaviors by casting blame and avoid responsibility for our own actions. We may have viewed others as judgmental or unloving. I believe we have lost the right view of the glory of God and therefore with this Celebration of Praise and thanksgiving, we are to declare to live for God and His glory each day.

John Calvin said: “The sum of the Christian life is the denial of self [and the glory of God].” The Christian life is about God and His glory, not about us and our needs. We are just a pen in the hands of God and we must use all our gifts, talents, and abilities ultimately for one preeminent purpose—not to magnify ourselves or further our own name, but to glorify the Lord and Him alone!

Let us encourage one another to give all honor and glory to the Living God. We bring glory to Him when we confess Christ as Lord. We give thanks to Him for what He has done in our life. We praise Him for His faithfulness, mercy and grace toward us.

3”Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Heb 1:3 KJV)

I am asking you to make this your priority in your schedule.
