Words by our Priest-in-Charge:
Beautiful Creature
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
In the entertainment world of Hollywood, we often see many very talented and gifted artists, actors and actresses, or singers. Their works are often celebrated even long after they have passed on. Some of them, unfortunately died in very untimely manner. Some due to misuse of drugs, some as a result of involving in high risks sports or activities. The irony is, while the creativity in them is obviously from God, they were not happy with life.
When God created us, His creativity is in us. Though marred by sin, that creativity nonetheless remains. When we see the creativity in man, it should naturally point us to a “creative” Creator. Without that connection with the Creator, man lives an incomplete life. Without reconciliation through Christ Jesus, man cannot re-connect with God in a meaningful and intimate relationship. I am often reminded, and encouraged to know, when I see evidence of creativity in a person, that God has created that person and therefore God has His eyes on him.
We are all workmanship of God. More so for those who are in Christ Jesus, we are a new creation. God wants us whole. He not only wants to reflect His creativity through us, but He wants us to live life to the fullest, finding purpose, solace, comfort and joy of life in Him and no other. Today, turn to Jesus and ask Him to lead you into that state of life that He alone is the source of all that you need in life, to be in that position that the very best from your Heavenly Father may be upon you. Choose this day to do so. I know I would.
