Weekly Message: Ushering in a new season

“The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly. The right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly!” (Psalm 118:15-16)

This has been the first week of the year 2016. We had returned to work or school from the year end holiday mood. There is a sense of things starting up, heading to a new season. For us to enter into a new season, the previous season must end, or at least the traces of it must begin to fade. A new mindset is required for a new season, otherwise we might miss what God has in store for us this year.

“At the beginning of this New Year, start with what you have and stand firm in what God has spoken to you. Write everything He speaks to you — everything He has said and is saying — then use the written outline to begin. The Lord is on the scene and the believed-for end of this long ordeal, including the sting of it, is near. The Lord’s hand is extended on your behalf!

The Lord has called for an end to the former season, an end to anything that is less than His best for you, and to many situations that have worked against you. Press with your faith, pray with confidence, and make His Word final authority in all you do.

So then go ahead, begin a new season. Start with what you have—you surely cannot start with what you do not have. Clarify your goal. Steady your thoughts. Make necessary decisions. Make necessary changes. It is time to begin.” (Adopted from Shirley Weaver’s Daily Devotional)

So let us determine right from the beginning, the attitudes we should carry and the things we must do this year.
