Faithful Father

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:3-4

Last week, I have put in the Church bulletin a call to petition to the Lord for financial provisions. Many of you have responded with great concern and many outside our Church have also showed their support in various ways. I have on 28 October written to the management of the landlord, proposing to pay the rental arrears in instalment and promised them that we will keep our rental payment up to date by December this year. The management by then has instructed a legal firm to handle this matter. On 29 October, we had in fact received several love gifts which I realized, we had sufficient fund to clear ALL our rental arrears and immediately keep our rental payment up-to-date! When I informed the management and the legal firm of this latest development, they were audibly pleased that they do not need to pursue the matter further with us. God is faithful!

The Psalmist perhaps from his own experience, described God as faithful and we can “feed” on His faithfulness. It is to me, that we can lean on His faithfulness everyday, just like trusting Him for our daily bread. How wonderful is that! The Psalmist also seemed to suggest that for us to feed on His faithfulness, we are to trust in Him, delight in Him or enjoy Him and do good. Doing good here means to do what He has purposed for us to do.

We know the Lord has called us to be Stream in the Desert. That is His destiny for us. We also know that Ellel Ministries has brought many into the freedom that Jesus has obtained for them, which is really what is pleasing to the Father. As we continue faithfully in our callings, we can be confident that we can rest in the Father’s faithfulness.

I wish to thank all of you who have responded with earnest prayers and your love gifts. I would also like to encourage all of us to continue to trust the Lord that we may continue to feed on the faithfulness of the Father.
