Words by our Priest-in-Charge:
The Lord speaks
“In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul.” Psalm 138:3
In this time and age, most of us enjoy the convenience of wireless communication and satellite television. Wherever we go if we are within the coverage area of any of those service providers, we can log into their services. It is so easy for us nowadays to connect with one another through Whatsapp, Facebook, Viber, LINE, etc. It is made possible because the connection for these services is always made available, active 24/7. All we need to do is just to connect with the network.
The Lord speaks to us all the time. His Spirit is operating a “network” of communication for us to connect, anytime, anywhere. Just like connecting to a telecommunication network, we need to be within the “coverage area”. Although with God, who Omnipresent, we can communicate with Him anywhere and anytime, we need to be in a position of hearing Him. There are just too many distractions around us to hinder us from hearing God.
We need to be determined to draw near to God and hear Him speak. We must decide to do so and make effort to overcome all hindrances. When God speaks, we need to hear. We hear God, not on our terms, but on God’s terms. If we cried out to the Lord, He will surely answer us. When we draw near to Him, He will surely draw near to us. We cannot afford NOT to draw near to Him because we can do nothing without Him.
What are you faced with today? Draw near to God. Cry out to Him. Pray in the Spirit. And do not allow the enemy to distract or discourage you. Your hope and help is in the Lord alone!
