Words by our Priest-in-Charge:

Priest-in Charge

Turning the world right side up

But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, ” These who have turned the world upside down have come here too. Jason has harbored them, and these are all acting contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying there is another king — Jesus.”  And they troubled the crowd and the rulers of the city when they heard these things. So when they had taken security from Jason and the rest, they let them go. (Acts 17:6-9)

The life of Jesus from His birth right up to His Resurrection, has seen many orders established by man overturned. As His disciples, the Church has been commissioned to continue His mission of reestablishing Godly orders in life. It may not be a popular position in life, for some in the days of the early Church has called the disciples “those who turned the world upside down”. But I call, those who have turned the world “right side up”. Discipleship is such that values and orders of God’s Kingdom be continued through the generations, expanded throughout the world.

The mentoring process transfers the mentor’s experience to the mentee—teacher to student. The teacher imparts intuitive leadership with a graceful approach to student-disciples whose fire-y zeal invigorates the process.

Jesus’ teaching ministry trained the outspoken and strong-willed as well as those more reluctant to speak up—He made disciples of all kinds of people and the resulting leadership transfer changed history. When Jesus stepped into Glory those He had trained went forth and turned the world upside down with His message. Nothing has been the same since!

This Resurrection season is like that for us—we step out in faith from one place to the next higher one, from everything familiar to unknown realms, from just basics to new levels of faith. When we hear the trumpet, we don’t hesitate. When the word from the front is move, we do not stay. As the cloud moves, we follow. As glory transforms us—we rejoice!

Blessed Resurrection Day!
