A time to remember
” Remember these, O Jacob, And Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you, you are My servant; O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me!” Isaiah 44:21
We celebrated the 10th Anniversary on 22 August 2014. It was a time of great rejoicing and celebrating God’s 10 years of faithfulness towards Desert Stream. Indeed, it was a marvelous time for those who have been with the Church from the early years, to recount the many blessings which God has brought us. It was a good opportunity for those who are relatively new to the Church, to understand how we started and the purpose for which we were established. For our friends and brothers and sisters in Christ from outside of Desert Stream, it was of time when we testified to the faithfulness of God and His amazing grace.
I sense in my spirit, during this time of celebration, though the Lord wants us to forget the past which tends to hold us in bondages of defeat, there is this part of our past He wants us to remember. Firstly, that we are HIS servant. The Church Desert Stream belongs to Him. We are His. We are His so that He can call us tenderly to belong to the Father. We are His servant because we exist for His sole purpose and good pleasure.
Secondly, He formed us. He called us into existence. For the past 10 years, and for the many years to come, He shaped and molded us, and will continue to do so in order we might be more refined and prepared for His purpose and His mission, as His people.
Thirdly, He will not forget us. He will always remember us as His covenantal people. These are the assurances that I believe the Lord wants to remember. It is imperative for us if we are to continue to live out the purpose of God for us and live in His destiny. God wants us to remember His faithfulness and be assured that He will continue to be faithful to us.
Blessed 10th Anniversary, Desert Stream!
