Words by our Priest-in-Charge:
Born of the will of God
“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth must be what is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what is already loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19 (Amp)
As Christians, the Bible describes us as one born of the will of God (John1:13). At our conversion, there is a change in our position before God. Not only that our sin is forgiven, we are given a new identity, a re-birth. It means that our life as Christian now has a new meaning, a fresh destiny, a rediscovered purpose and a restored hope.
Part of this abundant life which we receive from Jesus, includes the keys of the Kingdom of heaven. The keys which Jesus talked about is the power to bind and loose. However, this power does not entitle us to bind whatever we desire, and loose whatever we like. The Amplified version of the Bible tells us correctly what Jesus was really saying. We are simply to declare on earth what God has already decreed, willed or determined in the heavenlies, to speak what God’s will is into our situation, whether to bind or to loose. But it must be something which God has already willed and determined, then we decree it by our words, so that they shall be established.
But how will we know what God has already willed or determined? You may ask. It is possible because we are born of the will of God. It is only birth right, if you like. We are expected to receive revelations from God of His will. Just as Jesus said to Peter that flesh and blood have not revealed the true identity of Jesus to him, but His Father in heaven, so we can receive such revelation from our Heavenly Father.
Ask of the Father for the revelation of His will in situations in your lives. So that you may know what the Father has determined or willed, decree them, binding and loosing!
