Free and Dependent

1. John 15:1-10

• We are set free by God through the Cross of Jesus and enter into an intimate fellowship with the Lord
• Our relationship with God is like that between Father-Son, and our relationship with Jesus is like that between vine and branches

2. Need for freedom

• Bondages of sin and darkness drives us to independence from God or dependence on anything but God
• Bondages of any type hinders us from entering into the kind of intimate relationship with Jesus and the Father

3. Freed to be dependent

• Our freedom does not mean that we are independent from God
• We are set free so that we could relate to God in healthy dependence just as God has intended it in the beginning
