[Day 14] Metamorphism

DAY 14
Metamorphism

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Romans 5:3-5

Metamorphism is a process of change of property in substance or rocks. The process of metamorphosis occurs when rocks come under tremendous pressure and heat, without melting the rocks. The property of the rocks starts to change and transform. When carbon in the form of graphite comes under huge pressure in the depth of the earth, the carbon atoms will rearrange their structure and turn into diamond.

In our lives, sometimes we find ourselves going tremendous pressure beyond our understanding. These trying times often drive us either closer to God or closer to the world and the devil. It is time such as these that God begins to shape us and transform us into people of His destiny. Such trials and testing could come due to our own sins or the iniquity of our forefathers. They could also due to the devil resisting us from entering into God’s purposes for us.

While God may not be the originator of our trials at times, and He doesn’t need the devil or use the sins and iniquity of man to accomplish His purposes, He is in the habit of using whatever weaknesses we may have, the consequences of sins and the devil’s evil scheme, to turn them into our advantage. God can create opportunities out of these trials to manifest His mighty power to save and glorify His own Name. He uses such occurrences to bring us to the next level of breakthrough, maturity, and intimacy with Him.

Just like carbon comes under extreme pressure and becomes diamond, a precious stone with the hardness of 10 (out of 10!), when we are faced with tremendous pressure in life, if we do not lose our hope in God and keep looking to Him, His Holy Spirit will produce in us the perfect will of the Father.

PRAYER FOCUS
Pray and intercede for all those who are currently under pressures of life. Pray for God’s strength, presence, and comfort to come to them (and to you!). Pray that their hearts will not be hardened towards God but that they will come out more matured and stronger in faith.
